OK Oakley Brethren…can one of ya PLEASE tell me…WHY!?!?…after not touching this whole MARS Exotic Leather Wrapping Project for maybe three months…I start back with the most unforgiving, hard to work with, DARN SAMURAI USED FOR ARMOR leather to do this with!?!?!?

Sheesh…only got the nose bridge done. Wings tomorrow…MAYBE!!!

…and I’M SPENT!!!

Well now…that was less painful. Gotta do more of these so I don’t forget crucial steps, tips, and tricks

Still way too much trimming after initial lay on of the cut leather…even with the new templates…

SpecialAdvisor Juliet Mk. 1 in Rustoleum Colorshift Paint Green-Copper (looks more green-gold to me), Linegear Green/Gold - NXT® EMBEDDED Non-Polarized lenses, and Linegear Olive Drab Rubber set.

This frame is basically a soup sandwich. An item by item how “Not to paint” a frame. I admit it…I need more patience. Need better paint stand usage, let it dry longer between stages, etc. Ended up with multiple dings, dents and one large chip while putting in a lens

I’ll still give it the wear it deserves! Then back to the drawing board!

Back to the drawing board! That darn Rustoleum Colorshift was tenacious!

This photo is not doing this color justice. It’s a really “really” good, old school Army Olive Drab made by Rustoleum.

Now I just need to keep my paws off it while it dries…
