Well this turned out far better than I thought it would.

Boiled the Linegear Bright Red Rubber Set in Chocolate Brown Rit Dye for an hour. Rinsed it off in clear water. Then let it set in vinegar for a bit.


Drying now…looks exactly as I wanted...a nice Dark Red. Now we wait for the Akane lenses to arrive.

Change of plan…for the moment I ditched the over the door option. By rearranging wall art a bit I opened up a larger space. Suitable for three rows of nine. Much better.

One row of nine in place (Valve 1.0s and M-E Jigawatts so far)…the Ultimaker 2+ Extended is busily printing off more as we speak…18 more to go!

Can still return to the space above the door at some point. But let’s face it being right below’s Betty’s hoisted backside…could be worse locals for Oakleys.

I don’t cook worth a darn…but apparently I boil a mean Oakley Rubber Set! Went from bright toy truck red to a nice Dark Rusty Red.
