Looks awesome!! Really cool idea. One quick side note I think you are missing an island? There are 8 islands in the chain. I think there is only 7 on your design.

Huh…I actually did a vector trace of your design. Looking at a photo of the stamp it seems like “Kahoʻolawe” was too shallow on the stamp to imprint deep enough in the leather on the press. Good catch. Far easier to put “in” an island than take one out…that and a dash of paint will sort that out! Also it’s an easy fix to change and reprint the stamp for future runs. These are prototypes after all!

Ya need a macro lens to see it but Kahoolawe has risen from the seas!

One more coat of a slightly lighter green on the islands, skull, and a few toothpick touchups of blue around the islands and then should be good for saddle lacquer.

Still hoping for time to wrap up the Hawaii Variants today (those finicky micro details are hard on the eyes). In the meantime put a couple coats of Purple on a set (big brush fast and easy). Seems to me I know of at least one Oakley Brother who is partial to Purple

Alrighty then…all done with painting (even added about four coats of glow in the dark leather paint to the skull, islands, and the text!), saddle lac on and drying. With luck these will get put in place this weekend!

Side note, I’m digging Notch Caps. Hard to beat when wearing wraparound sunglasses

Purple is done…and one coat of yellow/gold is on the skull, text, and borders…it looks so Gawd-awful it’s not fit to be seen. Needs a solid two more coats of yellow leather paint first
