Outstanding! I can see the red now in this light.

I also dig that heat treated blue. Wish I could figure an easy way to do that…for the whole heated spent brass effect.

Meh…no better pic than the previous non-lightbox photo.

While I’m happy with the color, it does make me question the high gloss finish. Course I always head straight to matte…maybe I’ll let it cure and wear it a couple times before slamming a matte or satin finish on it

Still look good in the Lightbox, unless it's not a smooth finish. Maybe a hit with 60-30 micron pad and matte all but the lugs?

It’s pretty smooth…another coat of “something” would likely smooth it out. Hmmm…good idea to matte the orbitals and temples but not the lugs…

I am really bad about post processing…just have no patience for most of it…I’m guessing 60-30 micron is quite fine? …I have some extra fine modelers sandpaper around somewhere…but usually only use it for cleaning up rough spots.

Either way I do like the two finish idea

Still not exactly sure what I’m doing here. Want to leave the OEM metallic dark blue alone (for the moment…) cause it’s purdy. I got a few different shades of Tamiya blue metallics. Going to do the lugs in the lightest and the icons in the darkest and see how it looks…

I was surer on this when I snagged the paint. The Rustolem satin rustic orange kinda put me in mind of STAR WARS’ Rebel Alliance burnt orange…and thought Tamiya translucent orange on the lugs. Then glow the heck out of some of it with orange glow…not my usual style but felt like giving it a go.

Darn rustic orange looks more like pumpkin pie to me now…hmm…maybe a misting of something to darken it or maybe battle damage it

The Tamiya dark metallic blue looks like a good match to the orbitals and temples and are already on the icons. The Tamiya light metallic blue was a miss for me as was the medium blue.

Back in the mid-60s thru the 70s my Mom had a Porsche 911 Targa. She had it painted in an ice metallic blue. I always remember her and that darn car. I learned to drive on it

I was hoping to match that color for these lugs and also to make my Wife a pair of Oakley Wires with the color and get DWP lenses for em. Maybe get some extra Valve 1.0 DWPs for this pair.

So far the attached images seem closest…the least expensive and easiest to get being the Duplicolor. The other two are complete unknowns but I did like the colors…
