OK…this is pretty much a soup sandwich…just not a particularly soggy one. Lots of lessons learned.

I should have added an extra inch to the leather pattern size compared to the original microfiber size. It’s barely big enough for a Valve 1.0. Slightly too small for a MARS. Fits my Ti Frogskins very well.

Saddle stitching suede is a pain in the backside cause the holes disappear.

Repunching the holes will ensure you end up with extra holes.

The thin leather tore while I was flexing the drawstring…no biggie…I stitched extra reinforcement.

Probably will do another just to have one for my MARS…but…lots of other projects got priority…just felt this one needed trying

It may not clean your lenses , but it’s a seriously beautiful glasses case.
Just thinking about how the leather will age over time… I’m already hooked .

Many thanks O-TEAMMATE. I dig leather for that very reason…I’ll do another before too long. Got half a cow’s worth of this leather either way…and plenty of leather lace. Just need to pick up a few more antler button pulls.

I have a large pile of Ikon microfiber squares. Was gonna tuck one in the bottom for cleaning duty.

I was going to put fur inside on one side to further protect the lenses but will now wait till Mk. 2 for that. I’ll use this one…but don’t wear my smaller frames as often as MARS and Valve 1.0s. So gotta take my lessons learned and do another.

Got a quick non-Oakley leather project first. My Dango Money Clip Wallet is failing me…cards falling out. Gonna try and make my own minimalist front pocket leather wallet…heh…could put an O-TEAM patch on the front flap I suppose

Soooo....this ain't technically Oakley...yet but it could be.

I ditched my hip pocket wallets about 20 years ago...been using a front pocket money clip style "wallet" which hold cards ever since. Been thru a few kinds and landed on Dango. Worked great until a week or two ago when I pulled it out of my pocket and one of my credit cards just fell out on the floor...loss of confidence was immediate. The metal retaining clips had weakened over a the few years I used it I guess...I took it as a sign to make a change.

I started digging and came up with a few ideas....out on the big net they have these leather front pocket wallets...basically minimalist. Hold about 10 cards/IDs and cash. Slot for a couple most used...etc. Looked hard at a bunch of em. Crazy prices...the leader company sells em for 150.00 to 1200.00 depending on the leather...Nope.

I decided to reverse-engineer the basic idea from images of the best of all the similar models I saw...added my own style touches here and there. This is the result. I can see stamping my personal logo...or O-TEAM or M-TEAM...or MAD LABS or whatever on the flap.

I made a pattern up of it and will drop it here in Left and Right handed...should there be any other daring soul out there who don't mind bruising their finger tips for a few hours...other than labor time involved the cost of the materials is minimal...which is why I rolled my eyes at 150.00 and decided to give it a go.

They say that after two-three weeks the flap stays shut on it's own...pics seem to support that. Some models have a strap...this is just Mk. 1. Probably need an OD one at some point.
