My collection is re-shaping and aiming towards streamlining. Trying things has been a bigger focus than having things.

.My SMP 300M has not only been my main watch, but I've come to be more willing to wear it in more of anywhere. The concept of a backup/beater watch being cheaper was making less sense because the practical preference of wearing the SMP carried more weight than wearing such other watch(es) for that sake.

So the best alternate to my SMP was....essentially something very much like the SMP. Has most everything I like, but a better size and more practical bezel.

Watches and Wonders 2026 kicking off and I've had my eye out for one specific release - the return of Cartier Roadster.

I've spent the last few months contemplating a used one. All things considered I didn't think the investment made sense when hearing the rumor a few months ago of this coming back. The older lug/rivet shape was really nice, though.

Blue dial is where I'm leaning. Cooler if it has lume on the numerals like the Santos variants do.
