Your thinking is pretty much spot on. I haven't even tried one on in 20 years. I very much appreciate the entire X-Metal line, but they're not for me.

Ahh Estes area, I thought that looked familiar. Hook on down to Salida, if you get the chance, beautiful country, great little town. When I get back again, would love to meet up. A nice hike would be awesome.
