What Oakleys Are You Wearing Today??

It was right after we started dating. She had mentioned she was into LV purses. I didn't know jack shlt about purses or LV. I asked my sister and she sent me to some website. They weren't marketed as fake and still cost several hundred dollars; I had no idea that comparable real LVs cost in the thousands. I just trusted my sister and bought one.

And I was so excited, looking forward to her reaction when she opened the gift and found a LV purse. Instead, her immediate reaction, I mean the very second she saw it for the first time, was just "it's fake".

I didn't take it well. Was angry, felt she could have at least shown more tact. But that was just because I was disappointed.

Once the dust settled and I learned a little more about the real product, I could see where she was right - it was an obvious fake at first glance.

But the funny part (at least from my perspective), the website selling the counterfeits? They accepted returns - I returned it and got my money back...
I almost died when my mom told me she wanted a purse for Christmas... My co-workers tried to convince to buy her a Dooney & Burke or a LV. HELL NAH. If she want that she can go and dump her fixed income on that. I bought her a $76 purse and she was just as pleased.

:lol::taunt::taunt: that is funny don't trust those sites, unless you go to a consignment site. Those Chinese sites are terrible. We I mean the wifey and I tried to buy just to see it was disappointing real fakes if yah know what you are looking at.

At least you know you can trust her to be brutally honest. ;)

They may have been Chinese in origin but I think that seller was local; it was like 10+ years ago and I don't really remember. But it's not like I snapped up a BIN off ebay without any due diligence. My mistake was assuming my sister knew about this sort of thing and trusting her recommendation without further vetting, when actually she didn't and likely just googled up a site. Like I said, I didn't know anything about that market or brand at all, wasn't into designer anything.

People make mistakes; the key is to learn from them... ;)

Oh yes, if that wasn't clear then, it certainly is now...

same here those damn LV bags are damn expensive atleast 1k. I almost bought one on those sites. I believe they are more strict now as a few of them if not most are banned now. The wifey owned 5 now I believe waste of money if yah ask me (she can say that with my oaks).
