What Really Grinds Your Gears?

Maybe, I think there was a murder there last year... Made international news ... Imagine if every murder made the news like in Baltimore?
"A" murder????

If every murder in Baltimore made the news they would have to dedicate a section of the newspaper to just that.

Give me a better outlet. My face is in need of a good melting. And please make it a band that is actually good. 99% of bands sound like ass.

Like Avenged Sevenfold. People like that sh*t? God awful. For all the flak they take Nickelback actually has a sound (albeit monotonous across their collected library) that is tolerable.

OMG Avenged is horrible!!!!

An event has made me realize it's true, I have become Clark Griswold. Optimistically shuttling my family through life's stumbles and enthusiastically engaging in mundane activities like... Christmas lights.

I never did them at the old house but we started doing them at the new house for the last 4 - 5 years, I don't remember exactly. Nothing new this year but otherwise it's grown a bit every year, keep adding something more.

The camera doesn't do a good job capturing the colors properly - the stuff in the tree is more purple, the blues are more blue, the light-string x-mas tree is green and red. Most of it is static but a few things are animated (flashing and / or color changing).

Our neighborhood has x-mas decoration contests each year; I've never earned a remark. Nor do I really care about it. But this year The Wife made me put them up before The Other Kid was born and they did their judging very early (Dec 4th), before most had put their lights up. So, not as much competition.

They have categories for best house, best street, "x-mas elegance", and... Clark Griswold. Which they "politely" describe as, "the homes that embrace the decorating and take it to another level and do it wonderfully". Yeah, right, that's what they mean...

Guess what was in my front yard when we got back from the hospital?

(they don't even spell the name right)

Talk about a backhanded complement. Not only winning a Clark Griswold award, but also only getting 3rd place. Fine, my lights are overkill, I can laugh at myself about it. But apparently I'm not even the best at that, either...

So yes, I Am Clark Griswold. Where's Christie Brinkley?
