Where to get replacement lenses for discontinued Oakley frames?

I've got a pair of 4137 Die Cutter which are great. It's just the right look, shape, and they are stand out. Unfortunately Luxottica parts does not carry them any more so getting replacement lenses there are out of the question. eBay is also out. The only alternatives right now are third party companies with whom I have no experience. There are the more popular names like Revant and The Sunglasses Fix which I know nothing about. There are also no name companies appearing on Amazon and eBay also selling replacements.

I absolutely prefer to have Oakley branded lenses. I hear that these others are pretty good but not as good. I have no idea whether this is placebo effect or they are visibly not as good. I've seen some tests that suggest that the lenses of some companies are fully within the specs of Oakley but I have no basis to say any of these tests (likely self-serving) are credible. So... can anyone suggest where I can get replacements? I might even consider buying frames with the glasses, especially fond of the sapphire.

I’ve bought some aftermarket lenses - but nothing seems to be as good as the Oakley polarized frames. Not sure what voodoo they had, but the polarization on those frames was amazing. You could see things you’d miss without them.

Thanks. Looking at the options, it appears that Revant is the only one making them where shipping to the US is feasible. The other options on Amazon and eBay are far too cheap to be likely usable. As the lenses appear to be returnable on Amazon, I may just go ahead with them and take a look.

Depending on what you want to pay, you could always have someone cut an Oakley lens to fit. I'm not sure what the bar curve is on that frame, or if any feasible lenses exist, but it's worth checking into if your set on Oakley.

Otherwise, I've used Revant lenses before and they've been fine. You have to be careful though as i have gotten lenses in a different base curve than original which is less than ideal.

Is there a clarity/quality difference between the Revant standard non-polarized and the polarized elite? I'd prefer to get a set that isn't polarized (to avoid camera and dashboard visibility issues) but if the clarity is better on the elite, I'll deal with it. Polarized can also do some funky things and distortions, which is why I like to have a couple of pairs without the polarization.

Tbh I'm not a fan of polarized lenses so if I get replacments, I don't normally get them.

Since polarization is supposed to increase clarity by filtering scattered light through the lens i would assume the polarized elite has better clarity though. How much better, i can't say.

There are 5 big companies that make top level replacement lenses for past models and current ones made today.

1. The SunglassFix. Based in Australia, great quality, limited mirror option selection compared to the others I will list. Lenses are top notch when it comes to clarity, coating protection from scratches etc.

2. Seek Optics. Based out of Pennsylvania. I have used several of their Polarized and Non Polar lenses. Good selection of colors and frames they support. Very affordable.

3. Fuse Lenses. Based out of Florida, have several tiers. Their AMP Tier is similar to Oakley Prizm contrast enhancing technology. Affordable and a wide range of colors. Has a points rewards system you can earn toward more lenses.

4. Revant Optics. Based out of Oregon. Wide range of colors, great quality and clarity. Probably the most reliable of the 4 mentioned so far in fitting right the first time.

5. LineGear Japan. Based in Japan, great company and been around a long time. Limited frame support, mostly X-Metal, however they can support any lens thats an 8 base (No Shields). They are the only company that has the factory Iridium colors available like ICE (NB-10), Emerald, Ruby.

I have lenses by every single one of these and would recommend any of them. Depending on what you are looking for.

There are differences in the tiers of all these companies lenses. As some come with additional protective coatings for Anti-Reflection, additional scratch protective coatings beyond the base level.

You get what you pay for in the third party lenses. I go toward the middle or top tier as those have had the least issues with ability to clean up dirt, debri, oils, fingerprints etc.

Here is some of the videos I have done on all of the vendors mentioned and the different tiers.

Hope that helps.

Ah... so those are your videos. I actually saw them. You have an incredible collection... wow. You look like a retailer! I appreciate the insight. One thing I did want to know a little bit more about was a comparison with the OEM lenses in terms of clarity, etc. You did cover some of the tint etc. but it took some time to find it.

Also of note - I noticed that anything related to the SunglassFix takes quite some time to deliver in US, I'm guessing due to its location in OZ. The others make lenses but not for nearly as many models as Revant, which is the situation I'm in and they are the only reliable company I could find. A number of $10-20 lenses made by no-name companies on ebay and Amazon and I am suspect. Many thanks.

Thanks.

I am always looking for feedback to improve the videos since its a hobby and not a job. Just love sunglasses.

SFX do take about 2 weeks on average to arrive to me in Alabama from Australia has been my experience. They have great customer service. Rarely have any issues with lenses from them. I had one with a mirror QC issue and one that was just the wrong fit. Both were made right without issue.

I have used 2 of the ones you see on Amazon (MYR and Saucer). I will say I have been pleased with both for the cost point. But they are not the same quality as your top 5 I listed above. MYR makes EVZERO Lenses so I tried them and Saucer makes some pretty good ones as well. Never had any fit issues with theirs other than their first go round at making lenses for Plantaris. The base curve they used was wrong so the lens didnt fit as it should.
