Once the collagen injection in your lips goes down you should be ok.
I get it though, some things don't work on some people. OTT's look preposterous on me but I have two for my collection- they're a must.
Mars though, I wear all the time.

All I need is a lab coat. They're actually pretty horrendous straight on... with no Duck/Dr. Finkelstein face. They highlight the fact that I have a big head.

Nah man, they ain't that bad - I get kinda the same thing, I call it my "mad scientist" look. And The Wife hates them, too...

But rock them out for a few days to get used to them and I bet you'll grow into diggin it...
