Half X Stems With/without Numbers

I have several pairs of half x's. Some have model numbers ie 55@118 and some have plain non marked stems. Does anyone no the progression of the half x in regards to this? Gen1, 2 etc?

Looking at the serial list, I don't see multiple generations for the half x. Have to look at mine

Just wondering if the model number printing on stem came before or after the plain stem.
