Just purchased my first Frogskins

I have several other Oakley glasses but these are my first pair of Frogskins. Could someone give me a little information on these? Round about what year would these have been made in? Also does anyone know what this star means? (Bottom photo) Thanks in advance!

All the frogs that I have with the star in the mould have been from the 2010 Era. I think I have about 5 or so..most being the first fades. Marine fade, violet fade, rootbeer cyan fade and fire flora. From what I understand it was a means to ensure authenticity. It just didn't stick. The numbers behind the stems in the hinge stayed for longer after that. Nice one

Even my new in box polished clear with gold has the star. Polished clear with violet too. Date says 07. So 07 to maybe 2011? I'm not sure how long.. the Supremes from 07 I have don't have the stars.. odd..

Nice! Well thanks for the information. I actually bought them off eBay so when I receive them I will have to look and see if they have a number in the arm like yours do. I got these and a pair of gen 1 black frames with violet lenses. Which would be more “valuable” ? These up there or these gen 1?

Gotcha. I just assumed the gen 1 would be more valuable than the gen 3

Well I’m pretty sure the gen 3 that I posted about originally are fake…. There’s no number on the arm like yours. Good thing eBay is money back guaranteed.

Looks like there’s some teeth marks where “JAPAN” is engraved haha also theviolet lens are scuffed a bit. Will have to get new lenses more than likely. Thinking about nova from fuse or a rose gold lens from fuse or ikon or revant. Anyone have good luck with either of those three aftermarket lens in gen 1?

Well the gen 1 I got are definitely legit. I sent back the gen 3s. They were so loose on my head but these gen 1 are nice and fit great! I got these two today. Frogskin lite and gen 1s. Most gen 3 lenses will fit gen 1s. Not the other way around though.
