Much admiration and respect for the 'workhorse' with a nasty bite. Love that solid design. Might not have been as nimble as the P-51 or as laden as the Black Widow, but she had it where it counts.

If I was back then. I'd want to fly the P-38 Lightning. The coolness look/factor is fantastic. Like today's A-10.

Still. That twin boom design. Those nose mounted .50s and 20mm were devastating.
