Ultimately soldiers fleeing to Canada to dodge the draft has absolutely nothing to do with how a country allows its citizens to prosper. Canada was conservative prior to the liberals gaining power in 2015 and through hundreds of terrible policies and decisions they have pushed the middle class to the point where first time home buyers wont be able to afford it until they are 30 plus. I’m what I would consider middle class and by busting my ass I was on track to semi retire at 45. The liberals have pushed my plans to 50 so its an open and shut case for me on conservative ( republican ) vs liberal ( democrat ). For me it all boils down to if you want to sit on your ass and be a leech on the system vote liberal, if you want to work hard and be allowed to prosper vote conservative.

I think liberal and conservative are two very different things between the two countries. You must use the European definitions. Basically right now we have the liberals in power and they are left of center, the conservative party in Canada is right of center and certainly would never be considered far right. I wouldn't consider the US democrats to be far left, Biden even described himself as slightly left of center.

What I meant about home ownership being pushed to 30 is that nobody here that is just getting into the workforce will be able to afford a mortgage on a house until they are around that age.

Your argument that we have always had healthcare? The simple fact is that I pay for it ten times over in income tax. I would gladly adopt the US healthcare system in Canada and opt to pay for privatized healthcare insurance if it put me into the same tax bracket for my income level as the US. This would put way more money in my pocket at the end of the year. Try getting on a waitlist for back surgery on Canada’s ‘free’ healthcare, you will be in a wheelchair before you get fixed.

I don't claim my opinions are facts. And I at least answer questions. Do you think Republicans banning abortion is made up?

I have no idea. But I know for sure a lot of people like to take things out of context. Most people don't mind it in some form or fashion because there are things out of everyone's control. Like pregnancies from rapes. Or deformities that might lead to health issues. But I also agree with 'banning' certain things like extreme late term abortions. Unless it was life threatening. See? I'm easy. A little compromise on both sides would probably go a long way. But compromise doesn't fit the actual political or corporate agenda. Just my opinions.
