Maybe so. I just started collecting Jordan’s and a few cool 😎 Nike pairs but the Jordan 1’s high or low are new laced. I was just wondering if people knew why. lol 😂 crazy to me

Only reason I can think of is he famously sat at his locker and laced his own shoes before every game as a pre game ritual. maybe because of that. I'm not sure why it is only the 1s though.

Part of it is also because sometimes they offer 2+ laces. When you got the highs, it's a bit more tedious to unlace the shoe if you wanted to use the other color(s)

It's also bit of a shortcut on labor.

It was supposedly also more favorable for storage. Eliminates the possibility of unwanted long-term tension on the eyelets — this probably made little to no real world difference, but technically it's true that when it's not laced, you're getting a more truly-unbothered, fresh pair of shoes. The tongue keeper is notably untouched, too. Since that's just cut foam and lining vs and added loop, some people might not like it getting possibly coming crinkled up. I personally don't use the keeper, so it's nice that it stays truly flat.
