Fake serial number on penny's?

Saw this picture on a listing of penny's on eBay. Pretty sure someone got the idea of putting fake serial number on penny's.

Either that picture is all screwed up color wise in order to get the serial to show better or someone is now making fake Penny with serials or putting fake serials on real ones. I hope that its just a bad picture, with only that image to go off of its impossible to say for sure what's going on.

It looks to me like it was just the way the flash from the camera reflected off the polished frame just right to make it look white

Just looked up the auction for the pic you posted, and everything looks right to me. The glasses look real for sure, and the serial matches the colorway. It looks like its just an odd picture and the polished frame created some weird reflections. Here's the link if anyone else wants to give a 2nd opinion.

I wasn't doubting that the glass's authenticity, just that the serial number looks painted on or he etched it himself. The text looks too bold. But yes it might just be the lighting. Can't believe the glasses only went for $173
