I am chuffed! 30+ Years ago I bought a pair of Frogskins Gen 2. I had the lenses changed to prescription ones and used them for a few years until my prescription changed. Since then it has been somewhere among my neglected belongings.

A few months ago I rediscovered them, but still couldn't wear them due to mismatched prescriptions.

Come April, I'm getting my cataract operations and need a pair of sunglasses for the healing phase AND daily use after. So I'm researching for a nice and good pair when it occurred to me that I already have a nice pair. Just need to change the lenses.

Thankfully, Fuse Lenses still make lenses for the Gen 2. If anybody has feedback on them or leads to others, I'll be grateful. Besides Fuse, I've only found those that scan my frames and make customs

Also, I have the Rootbeer frames, so I am thinking brown lenses and maybe bronze mirrored.

Looking forward to rocking my Classic Frogs!

That’s an awesome rediscovery - those classic Frogskins deserve to be worn again! Sounds like perfect timing too with your upcoming cataract surgery. Fuse Lenses are generally a solid choice, especially for older frames like Gen 2, and they’re known for decent optical clarity and durability. If you’re going with the Rootbeer frame, brown lenses with a bronze mirror will look great and also provide good contrast and comfort in bright light. Custom lens makers can be an option too, but Fuse is usually more straightforward and reliable for this kind of replacement. Hope everything goes smoothly with your surgery, and enjoy bringing those classics back to life!
