Glasses other than oakley?

And it all started with Ray Ban over 25 years ago for me ;)

I have probably 20 pairs of Ray Bans in my collection. I like them too.

I believe the first pair of name brand sunglasses that I purchased was a pair of Raybans, though not aviators. It was back when Rayban was owned by Bausch and Lomb. I think I paid about $80.00. Thought I was so cool. Lol. That had to be about close to 25 years ago too. Wish I knew then what I know now. Lol.

I fly to Nassau with my buddy's to gamble and relax away from work. Since it's a 12 minute island hop for me. But there is only one place that sells Oakleys, and one of my best friends that I grew up with down here told me of a sports store ( can't recall the name) I automatically assumed either fakes or really old models since I only ever see Bahamians wearing flaks with fire iridium haha. Well, to my surprise the store was loaded with Oakleys, all of them were rediculously over priced though. and they were selling costa, dirt cheap, I mean DIRT. I bought a pair of cinnamon permits with the 580 glass bronze lenses for 98$ had the box all paper work, warranty etc. only wore them once though. God do I ramble on...

I have Ray-Band, Locs, KD's and no names they gave me from work. Wore these more before i got Oakleys. I still wear them on occasion depending on my mood or how far im riding. Usually buy Locs and no names in bulk because they last me 2/3 months before they snap. Bought my first pair of Holbrooks and havnt killed them. That started my collection lol

I have quite a selection. Oakleys are number one. Cebe 4000 Mineral Glacier Glasses #2. Ray Ban Leather Outdoorsman with the Polarized Lenses with ant-glare. Ray Ban Leather Wayfarers with Polarized lenses. I have a pair of TOMS Beach Classics with Zeiss Lenses (My beach shades). My RX Lenses are Autumn Gold from X-Cel Optical. They are an Amber lense utilizing Corning Photochromic Glass that goes from Amber to very Dark Brown. I have probably 30 more pair of various good shades, but Oakley is and always will be #1. I just collect guitars and sunglasses. You could collect or put Your money into far less interesting things.

Oakley is always gonna be #1 in my book. I believe when it comes to eyewear they have best all around package, optics, durability, selection, etc. I like to have variety though. Costa & Maui Jim for me are kinda tied for #2 spot. Both optically are very nice as well, especially Maui Jim. I like Under Armour but more for the clothing & shoes.
I just can't get down with Ray Bans, nothing against them or folk who own a pair. The styles just are so boring to me personally, and don't seem remotly as durable as other brands stated above. If I had to pick either Wayfarers or Frogs, then Oakley gets my vote 10/10 times.

I have a couple pair of Killer Loop non-polars (Bausch & Lomb) that I got during flight school back before they too became Luxottica sh!tspikes. Still have them but they are not in any kind of rotation. I'll have to dig a pair out and show them here.

I got a pair of Maui Jim Cliff House aviators brand new on EBay, for slightly less than half of the retail price. Great score. I must say that I expected to be blown away as the hype and $300 retail price got my expectations high. There clarity is great but I like the Oakley lenses better.

Picked up a bucket list pair not too long ago.

Nike Vision Max Carbon with the Max Speed Tint.

This was around 2005 when Lance was the s*** but of course he was also sponsored by Oakley. This pair was part of Nike's cycling line. Highlight feature was the carbon fiber centerpiece, which unlike.... virtually all CF eyewear I can think of lately, actually had a purpose. It was an actual stress member intended to maintain tension. Slick idea and cool aesthetic as a fancy boy's M-Pro, but eh...

The rim is intrusive. The nose runs wider than most. Together you're (or well, I'm) forced to manually pitch forward with the stems running along the where my helmet profile ends. Coverage is decent since it then runs closer and seals at the bottom.

I look like a f***ing idiot with the lens looking like it sweeps up and never rode with them. Literally this:
348

They're just not for me, and in turn a shelf piece. Cool to have in-hand.
