How do you go about trading here?

For those who’ve traded here, what process do you go through for the trade itself? I’m curious to see how it works in case I ever trade here, and maybe some precautions as well?

Yeah I got that part, just how does the actual trade work? Does each party ship at the same time? What if you ship but the other doesn't?

Ive paid value to the trader and they did the same. After receiving and inspecting, issue refund. You can also check their rating. OForum polices itself really well.

I just messaged people directly if I saw something I liked, added pics, and offered up what I had. Most deals happened through trust and good communication.

But, but, but.......how can you, you've never bought anything through OF?......

Trading is a little bit more tricky than buying and selling. You have to trust the trading partner. Make sure they have 100% good feedback, and have been here for at least a year. Its best to trade with people you have previous experience buying from or selling to and have had a good experience with. You also arrange a similar time to ship together. Should at least be the same week,
Not necessarily the same day.

Like the others have said, if you trust the member, that is the best case. I’ve done a few here without issue.

If you don’t trust, really should just walk away

BUT - there is also an option to ship to a trusted intermediary, and then that person can ship to the end user after they get both items and verify.

Best is to go with trusted members….if it seems too good to be true - it is.

I usually check feedback in the seller profile, ask for time-stamped photos, and chat a bit to get a feel. Most folks here are cool and just want fair trades.
