I am a Police Officer in New Jersey. I work in a small Township outside of Atlantic City and right now we are in the expected path where Sandy is due to make lanfall in NJ. Was wondering if anyone here is further South or in NJ wanting to vent about what they are experiencing. Looks like its going to be a very long next 24-36 hours for me.

I saw some video from Cape May... Looks like the surge has come up over the beach.

I'm in Reading,Pa and in the inland path of Sandy...
We were hit pretty hard by Irene last year and Sandy looks like it will be worse...

Good luck out there and stay safe!

Its been steady rain and wind here since yesterday. Since high tide this morning we have had flooding and the next high tide at approx. 9 pm is supposed to be significantly worse. Winds are supposed to increase to 40-60 sustained after 3pm, with max between 75-95. The worst supposed to be between 8pm-midnight. Anyway, so far so good and hopefully power won't be out too long. We were without power for six days after Deratio this summer.

Be safe there in NJ. I live in Bear DE and it looks like once it makes landfall it will pass just to the north of me. Right now it is raining pretty hard and I think the sustained wind is close to 40mph. Enjoying the power while I have it as I fully expect it to go out in time. I am from Philly originally and I know quite a few people who live in the AC/Margate area and I am thinking about them.

I am from Philly also. Now reside just outside of A.C. Getting bad here. Winds are really picking up. Bracing for the worst to hit between 5-6 pm as the pace of the storm increased from 13 mph to 26 mph over the last hour. Max winds 90 mph when it makes landfall.
