I am curious as to how the date ring works on my MM. I am familiar with a single piece date ring which is numbered from 1-31 but I have noticed on my MM that the right hand digit moves independently of the left one.

When the disk on the right goes past "0" a " finger" advances the disk on the left.

Looks like the Minute Machine uses this style "Big Date" calendar set up

When the lower disk (seen through the cutout in the upper disk) reaches 9 it advances the upper disk.

this one makes sense. i couldn't get my head around what was happening on the 20 and 30 - i am actualy only seeing the one (upper) disk on them dates.
