My Gearbox second hand sweeps in five second intervals now: I'm hoping it's just the battery. Can somebody reassure me about this please?

A lot of movements have battery low indicators like this. They start to move differently to alert you. If it's still keeping time I would bet it's a battery warning.

Rust is correct, that sounds like a low battery indicator.
However, the manual for the Gearbox makes no mention of having this feature; can't confirm 100%.
How did you not have that link in your bag of tricks?
It does appear to be keeping time, so I'm hoping Rustpot is correct. I'll contact Oakley UK to see if I can find out the cost for a new battery and to put the 'gears in motion'.
