my intro is b-rad

I cant stop myself from comparing and trying different lens makers out there in various color ways. Where Oakley, MJ, Costa etc wont meet the need its nice to have alternative options
Being Obsessive-Compulsive, It is a Blessing AND a Curse!
as Adrian Monk lamented often

I hated wearing sunglasses for decades, but then I found out about High-Contrast Color-Enhancing lenses, & became a Vivid-chasing junkie!

However, after all my experimenting, I surmise that a lot of the ad-copy is so much smoke & mirrors & some is downright lies.

Spy+ & Bollé specifically
Maui Jim to a lesser amount, they do not lie, they just hold back a lot

None of the replacement lens makers are doing what Prizm does or 580p (Costa).
It seems like the formula would be simple, since Costa/Luxottica put the wavelength they are masking right there in the name of it.

Serengeti as well, 555nm.

Chasing the Vivid Dragon has been an expensive affair.
I only made two visits to Sunglass Hut & I felt so bad about not buying a thing that I tipped the salesperson for the banter & knowledge.

I could have spent a lot of time there, but I also would have needed to bring a notepad to write down all the conclusions, re: fit & views

Costa just about refuse to fit me, save for a couple of models.
I cannot understand how I see so many wearing glasses that are touching their cheeks, when I do that they fog up quite badly, even in warm weather.

exception to Maui-Jim in the World Cup model
perhaps because it is glass & I only own two pair with real glass

I have bought a lot of disappointments, Maui Jim included, with exception of their High-Contrast Bronze in SuperThin Glass.
Weirdly, I actually like the Zeal Salidas (Maui Jim subsidiary) more than my Ho'okipa.

Two that stand out for me: Bajío & Kaenon (SR-91 Ultra), & a honorable mention to Wiley-X (Captivate Bronze)
one of those companies has a former Costa person in charge

not that Oakley does not do it for me, they do, but only Prizm-Polarized:
Tungsten
Shallow Water
Deep Water

Oakley cannot be beat for an ubiquitous amount of replacement lens offerings.
So I used Oakley half-rims as my testing platforms for the various replacement makers.

& a couple of Wiley X

addendum: the Maui Jim Maui-HT readers I ordered will be delivered today
that will be the pinnacle moment for me: Keep or Dump M.J.

After discovering Kaenon & the one great Wiley-X lens, I am leaning towards Dump

Yeah I am surprise that other than Fuse most havent chased the Prizm tech more and infused it to their lenses. Most is just fluff.

I actually see the difference with AMP technology in Fuse for some of the various ones like Glacier, Sapphire, and Nova

At first my eyes had to adjust to Prizm, now they feel neglected without it.

Deep Water, Maritime, Road, Sapphire or Jade are all favorites. The way Jade/Sapphire make the blues and greens pop when I was living in Alabama was a game changer. It was like the world coming to life even more.

Maritime is a great sub for Jade with a better mirror imo. Prizm Road i love for motorcycle riding. Really does increase the contrast in the asphalt which great for safety reasons. Even with my shield down at high speeds.

I have only tried Bronze & Glacier & I found it profoundly ironic that the Glacier is more vivid & contrast-boosting than Bronze. (because they advertise it as COOL color enhancing)

I intended on only keeping one, so I sold the other pair of RPM with that Bronze lens.

From what I understand, from Fuse themselves, is that Nova & Sapphire would not be as vivid as Bronze.
Glacier uses an Amber base & all those use grey.

Here is an odd fact, the Cascade in Pro series is Amber base, but in AMP series it is grey base.

As far as I can tell, the only model they are still selling Prizm Polarized Maritime for is Speed Jacket.
I am also not finding the Road lens in a Prizm Polarized.

I havent seen Prizm Road base in a polarized either

Here is what Im tracking for options

Flak 2 colorway reassignments complete:

orange frame has Deep Water lens
Pacific Blue has Prizm Polarized Ruby
Chartreuse = Prizm Polarized Tungsten
Red = Shallow Water
translucent yellow = Prizm Trail

I wonder, when I look at Maui Jim colorways, if they have never seen a color-wheel.

Deep Water blue went into the Orange frame, because they are complementary,
& so on & so forth

This is why the Iron Man theme works so well, because it is a Triad: blue, yellow, red
since the complementary Green is really Blue+Yellow

I am no fashion expert, but I have a fairly decent amount of different earsocks in various colors, & nose-pads.

The correct color of green earsocks for the Red frame should be arriving any moment, then I will drive to the local parcel-service to retrieve it, along with a some purple & green lenses.

ditto for another set of purple socks for the translucent yellow
in a lighter shade of purple/lavender

Pacific Blue is an odd one, was not sure if I wanted to match red or orange with that, but I can change it any time, easily.

The last time I tried to match them all up as Triads & went slightly mad in the process, taking into account the icon colors & everything.

The blue icons on the red frame kind of screw things up, but the rest are all neutral: Chrome, White, Black

For a moment I had swapped ALL the temple-arms around & that was just UnHoly, but some of them I kept, & there are two not in this photo that are still sporting mix & match temple-arms, as you can see from the one in the photo, Pacific blue with a darker blue.

mixing the temple-arms does not really do much, since the only parts visible are rather small,
but it probably does reduce the resale value a Helluva lot, though, LOL!

Oakley missed an opportunity, by only supplying black nose-pads with their earsock kits.

Flak 2 earsocks have Flak 2 written right on the left temple-arm, so I got the majority of my nose-pads from Half-Jacket 2 earsock kits.
