With the Japanese shirts, I heard ‘two’ sizes down is closer to American size.

If you like it looser yeah, get 2 sizes bigger. I typically wear a large or XL depending on the brand. With most Oakley shirts I get XL, but there have been a few occasions that an Oakley shirt has run a little bigger than normal, but that’s rare. In this case with the skull shirt after I washed it, I wish I would have gotten an XXL. It’s not tight at all but I like ‘em a tad looser.
