OFFICIAL 2017 COLLEGE FOOTBALL THREAD

Damn. This thread has been dormant. I guess we are waiting for the champs to play.

Central Florida upsets Auburn... Ouch... A pick 6 with 6 minutes remaining in that game sealed it.

Not an upset bro. UCF is an undefeated team that has learned to recruit from the best pool of football talent in the nation....Florida. They just beat a team that has won games against Georgia and Alabama who are both in the CFB playoff and UCF deserved to play in it too. I live 10 mins from UCF and have seen several of their games in person and they are just as athletic as any team in division one.

It's a shame their coach Scott frost is leaving to coach at his alma mater Nebraska. He won't be able to pick up as many athletes as he did in Florida and will soon learn it is a mistake.

There wasn’t an Auburn player around on the final interception of the game.

How is going to Nebraska going to make recruitment harder? It’s not like Nebraska is a no name school. They are in the Big 10 and one of the Power 5 conferences.

Because Florida has the best pool of top tier football athletes in the nation and those players are more like to stay in state and play. Miami, Florida gators and Florida State and UCF are all worthy programs and he had an easy pick at the talent being in state. Nebraska has not been a good program over the last 5+ years and top tier talent from that area are more likely to go to Oklahoma, Texas, tech, TCU etc....

Georgia Bulldogs are being exposed for the team they are and have been for the last 10 years. I didn't think they belonged in the CFB playoffs and think they are overrated every year

It’s not only Scott Frost leaving the program for Nebraska. He is taking his entire UCF staff with him so UCF has to build that leadership team from scratch.

I agree it will take a few years but I think he will turn Nebraska around.

Also, that chart seems very misleading to me. They used 2013-2016 for number of D1 recruits across the board and then used the number of registered football participants from 2015-2016 in each state to see what percentage was recruited.

It' certainly a kick in the nuts losing Scott frost. I think he and his staff are excellent dodge coaches and I think it is a big step UP for Nebraska but one of the reasons they were able to do so well at UCF is because of how deep Florida's football pool is. I think they will improve Nebraska's program dramatically but I'm also a fan of loyalty. They were building something special at UCF(that was started by George O'leary) and could of got UCF into a bigger conference. Either was he has a special staff and they will do good wherever they go and Nebraska is fortunate to get them.
