Excited for college football season to start, but I have a couple weddings on Saturday so I can't watch as much as I would like!

I watched a couple games last weekend. San Jose State came out ready to play and caught ranked USF flatfooted, put up 16 points, outplaying them on both sides of the ball. At least, for the 1st quarter. Then USF realized they were in a ballgame and slaughtered them; it was over by halftime.

While the Stanford / Rice game, played in Australia, was unwatchable for anyone except Stanford fans. That game was over as soon as they took the field. They had put up 55 points by the time Rice finally got on the board midway through the 4th.

Thursday this week has both OSUs playing, Oklahoma St against Tulsa and Ohio St against Indiana. As a Big 12 guy I'll have more interest in the Oklahoma St game but I'll probably watch both.

Then UT takes on Maryland to start off Saturday. We're favored by 18, but we'll see...

We'll see Oklahoma State in Columbus on the 9th to finish up the 1 and 1 series!

I hope it's as good as a game as it's being hyped. I feel like a lot of games get over hyped and then they're not even close.

I feel like Bama / FSU will be better than the *ichigan / Florida game. But we'll see

A couple of days before, Georgia State will open its football season in their own digs for the first time; they have played in the Georgia Dome since they got a program. The Sun Belt school bought Turner Field, the former home of the Braves, for $30 million. The baseball park has been converted to a football stadium. The field will be called Georgia State Stadium until they can sell the naming rights.

I'm not a huge fan of School's / Professional teams that sell the naming rights. I know it generates a lot of cash flow, but still. Some stadium names should just be kept, and not sold. Becoming more rarer by the day.
