I care, too. I just see it as a losing battle... :(

Really, spelling and grammar historically don't come from some set of rules somebody wrote but evolved over time with usage; usage defines the rules. A relatively recent example is the difference between American English and "the Queen's" English. Extremely recent examples are that starting a sentence with the word "but", as in "but she's hot" or ending one with a preposition, as in "what's that for?", are now grammatically acceptable. At least they are for the majority, outside of a circle of dated grammar curmudgeons... :D

So it's really the tail (the usage) wagging the dog (the rules), or maybe what we thought was the dog was actually the tail, after all...

But in rustpot's case, for this one I'm leaning towards Freudian slip... He wanted to say "depraved" but subconsciously he felt the thread was deprived of enough butt pics... :spiteful:
Sorry and The font cares too :punish:for butts;)

I've been married for seven years now. And it only feels like seven minutes...

...underwater. :D

Seriously, though it's really difficult, I think the pros outweigh the cons. I'm better off now than I would have been if I stayed single.

And by "pros" I don't mean unlimited ass, because it doesn't work that way. But still... ;)

M&M syndrome

Married and miserable lol. Wife hates that one

Something or other. Who cares about correct vowels anymore?
Probably the same people who recognise that "any more" are two words rather than one?!

I'm with @kronin323 on caring but finding it a losing battle. There's an argument for not worrying as long as the meaning is clear, but I'd still prefer communication not to be so careless.

Even on a casual forum, a degree of structure helps get your meaning across. Some posts are so unstructured that it just comes across as a ramble and I'm not sure what the author's point is, or sometimes even whether thay actually have a point...

Agreed on the last part. I know that not everyone has a firm grasp of the English language, but some of the posts confuse me at times.

I am thankful for generous times allowed for editing. I know I confused myself in a few of my posts.

On a side note, I was laughing at my little brother... The word phone was spelled correctly in a text message. He always spelled it phne and it always irked me (although I never bothered to tell him). I finally told him about it and he found it hilarious. A few times, those text messages looked rough and I actually called him to see what he was saying lol
