So when people are complaining about the price of the new x-metals. Heres a fun fact. the price for a romeo in 1997, accounting for inflation, is ~420$ in todays money. So really, they aren't really gouging as much as people would think. They were always expensive. They're a luxury item. Thats how that works.

And yea I'm aware the new metals aren't made in the USA, and they're also aluminum, but that side is not for the consumer, that's for the company. Stop looking at that as justification for a lower price.
How dare you! We want it all and want to pay next to nothing for it!

Here's a question, if they rereleased the Romeo for 420$ this year, would people still be pissed?
If it's the same as yesteryear, perhaps not. Otherwise, they will be pissing in everybody's Cheerios.

If they re-released the R1 as in the re-release was the same as the original, it would drop the resell value of used, original pairs, with the exception of pristine, complete LNIB original collector's pieces. But anybody with original R1s that show wear, have replacement lenses, without box etc and had considered them an investment would be miffed, yeah.

But I realize that wasn't what you were asking, you were asking if we'd think $420 was overpriced these days.

I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords...

So over the weekend I was out with the family and I see a guy wearing an Oakley t-shirt and glasses as I get closer I realize he is wearing bad fake batwolfs and a Oakley tee shirt and just start laughing my wife asks what is so funny and I explain it to her and she just shakes her head.
It would have been cool if you were wearing the Batwolf.
