Guys,

I’ve had these Romeos since 1997, all original rubber, they’ve been tuned up by Oakley once or twice over the years. Interestingly, I bought them for only $150. I was at Sunrise Surf Shop (price tag pictured) in Atlantic Beach, FL. I was going to buy a $150 pair of O-Matter frames (not sure which sunglasses that would have been) and the store owner offered to sell me “these stupid metal Oakleys that nobody will ever buy because they’re too expensive” for $150, just to get rid of them.
I’ve considered buying replacement lenses, although I can see fine through them. I like having the X-METAL engraving on the lens, because I haven’t seen that on other models.
Anyway, I was wondering, what do y’all think these are worth in their current condition? I have the original coin and the box is pictured. All of the hinges and joints are in great shape. The foam in the box is deteriorating and there are none of the original papers. Also, is there a way to get original black iridium Romeo lenses?

Thanks,

Chris

@pjd1234 one of the R1 kings!

If box matching serial I’d say around $550-$650ish.. would probably need better pics of the lenses and thorough assessment on condition .. BI etched R1 lenses are highly sought after if they are in near mint condition
