When painting O matters, do you need to strip the oem paint?

How do you strip paint off O matters?

I blast the frames. But I dont strip all the way to bare o matter unless the oem finish is failing.

I had an original pair of half jackets. I left them in simple green for many days. There was a clear coat that peeled off then I used a scuff pad with a rotary tool and took off the paint down to the plastic.

I haven't painted them yet but that's what I did for those frames.

The other two guys will have way more insight to this sort of thing than me. That is the only frame I stripped besides an Xmetal

No, never.

You can get paint stripper and strip the paint to bare plastic. I typically just rough the paint up, wipe down with thinner or alcohol, prime and paint.
