In the earlier iterations of Ruby, they may have used more coatings , for the majority of pairs produced, they definitely had a deeper hue. It's more the depth, which gives that almost magical: the range of tones you can get in some outstanding pairs.

You better not wait too long. Those SL donors are starting to peel. The iridum will peel off along with the tape when cutting
