Revant lenses vs. Oakley lenses?

I had a pair of Midnight Sun in a pair of Juliets I purchased a while back, I say had because I put them on the Bay and flogged them. They were nice to look at and not bad to look through but I quickly replaced them with some Oakley Custom Cut Postive Red Lenses courtesy of Chris. My main issue with them was the lense was VERY thin, rattle issues in the Juliet orbital and the Mirrored coating wasn't particularly generous. It has been said many times before, each to their own, nice that we are given choice in this world.

I use revants in my Splits, just because there are little to none OEM options except letting Chris cut them and let some courier drag them half way around the world..
I use my Splits for work, and the lenses wear out pretty fast sometimes, but then they cost not to much on the other hand so that works fine for me.

OEM will always be the best imo. I would put linegear to second best. But if you like em revants well thats is your choice.

I can tell you the standard Revant lenses are very poor quality. Not even close to OEM. The optics I've seen and polarization seems questionable and less effective, material's durability seems questionable at best. Their manufacturing process on the elite line looks promising. Of course I won't try them, like Frank said, no need to. You all should know why. I love the Oakley OEM. If treated properly they can last year's. I simply wish Oakley would add that stealth backside A/R coating to at least the prizm line. How cool would that be too have a Maui Jim Killer?!
Then again many don't like the smudgy nature of anti glare coatings in outdoor active settings.

I bought revant for colorways not made by Oakley or available like @Litos said. I've never had a problem, but don't really like wearing them much. My buddy bought a pair to replace his old split jacket lenses. And after only 1 month the coating is peeling all over.

Care to post pictures of the lenses? I'm curious.

I've got some Revant HC3 Elite lenses I've had for about a year and a half to replace some scratched up SCALPEL BIP lenses.

That said, first factor in the purchase was availability. Scalpel lenses are getting tougher to find and I got impatient. Like I said, the rogue green of the HC3 Elite line do well as back up back ups. I enjoy the revant lens, don't get me wrong, but now my Scalpels have taken a back seat to even frames I don't like as much that are equipped with oem.

Someone broke it down in more words earlier, but it definitely is a perceived increase in clarity. You CAN NOT beat the clarity of Oakley oem lenses; especially the Prizm line.
I don't always agree that paying more gets you more. I typically respect a good deal when the same quality is delivered for less, but as a back up back up, in this case. I'm not a purist or snob, but I tend to lean towards performance & personal comfort looking though above the color someone sees looking at me.

Also know that you were only given one set of eyes! You choose how you'd like them to be protected from direct sun while delivering clear optics and bangin colors.

Just my 2 cents with a 3 cent tax.
At the end of the day, you do you!

I agree! It's a bit frustrating though that Oakley does not support their frames all out, thus people like me have to resort to aftermarket ones.
