Spine case restoration

Recently acquired a spine case. Needs to be restored. I was thinking about having the spine mounts and feet chrome plates and leave the side poles silver. Just curious what peoples thoughts would be on that? Would I be ruining it for making it more awesome than it already is

Keep it pure, never know if you decided to sell it later. But that is my opinion. I rarely see people do custom cases. Most of them wire brush for extra shine, but I am no metal finish expert.
