I just recently bought these off of Ebay just to see what I'd get. I've been a Plate collector for a long time. I have to say they were actually decent glasses. The weight, screws and colors are of course the dead give aways but, that being said, if I wanted a pair to wear Mountain Biking and didn't want to f up a pair of my real Plates, this is the way to go.
I get what you are saying, but I wouldn't rely on a counterfeit pair of any style for protection....
