Updated No Shelf Whores Club Member List

For my 1000th post I wanted it to be something helpful or meaningful. I hope this small token of community service counts!

Note: There were 2 members that are now on vacation, possibly retired. @Zeke was not the first, it was @the piper. I kept both of them on the main list and noted their status next to their names. There are obviously a few parts where the sequence was less than clear so if there are any mistakes please just deal with it (j/k!)!

Seriously though, if there are any incorrect numbers you can update your signature to match the list or state your case with a smile :).
If I made a mistake and you must vent I welcome your PM :hunter:

Calling @Batwolf to post this update :)

Nice job. And congrats on the milestone.

Personally, when I first joined the forum I would see the sigs and ask myself, "what is this club and how do I join?!?" But I didn't bother searching and I was on for several months before I saw a revived thread. Or else I would have a lower number...:( But it is what it is.

On another note, not looking to revive an argument but should it be mentioned that there's a "Ronin No Shelf Whores # X² figure it out ;)" running around out there, too?

"Ronin No Shelf Whores # X² figure it out ;)"

Now that we are all caught up on this list I'll poke at that...

What is the difference between:

"No Shelf Whores Club Member # (insert your member # here)"

and

"Ronin No Shelf Whores # X² figure it out ;)"

What is the scope?
The preferred/proper use?
How do you propose we address that?
If there is a dual-club membership which one takes precedence (first obtained or does this rabbit hole go deeper?)

Remember that argument I mentioned earlier that XMM cleaned up? About a member trying to claim #100 before the count actually got there? Is that enough of a clue or would you like more? :D

When the list was approaching where "100" would be available, someone just snagged it, ... no names, but he used "#X²" - trying to rep 100 - as X represented 10, & 10 squared in mathematics is 100 -, & I was p i s s e d off & was the one who made the big, public b i t c h about it telling them to wait, or take the next available number, which was around 96-98 or so, & I stayed on his arse hardcore as he would not change it ... for some reason I felt the need to defend the idea of this list, & The Mission, etc., but I might say I was 10% overstretching my bounds, I would still do it again, ... should it be a group I was involved in, & everyone else had to/was following the rules / proposed guidelines, etc.,

Needless to say, I was the reason this Thread needed to be cleaned up.

Furthermore, I will never apologize for the confrontation.

 'poke' was the operative word in my post

Just instigating in hopes of inciting something entertaining enough for me to finish my

Yes, I wasn't going to name names, but since he mentioned it himself, Zeke was on one side. On the other, I'm still not going to name names but it should be pretty obvious as it's still in his sig...

He didn't do the "X²" thing right away - it was just a claim to #100 that Zeke disputed. I tried to mediate by suggesting he relinquish the claim, lurk on the thread, then jump in and claim #100 when it was next in sequence.

Instead he changed his sig to what it is now, the "ronin" presumably to state some sort of masterless / renegade status, the "X²" as a clever way to describe 100, and so on.

So, back to the original question, with all that in mind, should he be at least mentioned in relevance to this list? Or not? Why, either way?

So the entertaining thing for me is that I quietly sharked this thread for over a month before making my approach to #64. The meaning that number had was too great to pass up. I would argue it is a far greater number than X² where X=10 as the X=8 has significance beyond base-10 notation. Not just octal, but octets, 8 binary positions, and a seed for many others with a greater footprint in the digital stuff I do in "the real world". I was and still am very surprised that it fell in my lap as someone else jumped ahead and grabbed 65 - it was meant to be! :)

Of course I can totally see how someone would want X² = X2 = X Squared. I can't fault that logic. Any endgame in the theme of an X-Metal on this forum is worthy IMO. :acute:

We have also had other #s in debate 69 was a little annoying and most recently a civil request for 110 in advance. AFAIK we have always done well to police ourselves. The fuss folks can have over such thing, like numbers, silly humans, myself included :idk:

Really, it's come to this?

It's a number, people.

I don't like 5 as much as other numbers. I came fifth.

Although I DID buy a gun the other day because the serial number was **54321. I mean I was probably going to buy a gun, they set out a few for me to look at, one had 54321... Oh well.
