The X-MAN Customs Corner

Kinda kool......not what I would do but hey.... beauty is in the eye of the beholder
What's the reasoning behind keeping the serial on x-metals if you have modified from original color does the serial not become useless? Like with antiques they say they are worth more in original format and restoration decreases value.

Guess it depends on the person. Some like original state, some like modified, some prefer to keep serials, some don't care. I guess to each his/her own. Personally I prefer my X-Metals in original state, and would lonly like to see those that were abused customized and brought back to life, but that's just me. There are folks that prefer a custom and would modify a perfect original frame. I couldn't do that. I have two X-Man customs in my collection that I received in a trade so I do not know what condition they were in prior, but I will say his work is top notch.

If the owner isn't going to sell or trade it, value becomes a moot point.

I have two pairs done but I didn't keep any SKU or serials. I just started fresh.

Once you customize it to that level the serial is meaningless, especially from a value perspective. But some like to preserve it anyway, no biggie. At a minimum it's a record of what they were originally.

Serial is moreso to prove the frame is a legitimate model...

I took a serialized XMetal Ti02 and customized it...

It's still a "Ti02" frame, but it no longer looks like a Ti02...

Like mentioned above, some people care, some people don't...
