Some of us work 10 hour days! But of course you would be in the know!
Pretty much, until I get this place running smoothly! The wife hates it.
Say no more.... been in that spot before myself and it is no fun... At one point I was the only employee in the whole place because it was the 90's and kids could get higher paid tech jobs in those days. Open to close... 7 days a week... got old fast!
I am an executive Chef/ Food Service Director at a Jewish Healthcare campus in Milwaukee. I moved up here 1.6 years ago with an offer too good to pass up. I left my job in Omaha, NE of 17 years, another kosher facility. Left my kid, and grandchildren, rented my house out to come up to a nightmare. I knew what I was getting into however. I manage a 120 bed nursing home, a 130 bed Assisted Living facility, and a kosher Cafe that is open to the public. And if that wasn't enough, we also do immense caterings. All located right on the Lakefront of Lake Michigan. When I arrived the food was inedible, and was plagued with immense federal and state sanitation tags. Staff did not give a tuck! I have a staff of about 50+, of which I have fired 35+, but have lost count at this point. In a year we have passed survey with no tags, the food is now outstanding, and catering sales have increased by $400k. But we still have a London way to go, to get it where it needs to be. This is my last gig! I will retire in 5 years if it doesn't kill me first!
Man.... you pick your battles to be big! Can't help but to respect that! Food industry alone is tough enough!
I forgot to mention that I have been assaulted twice since working there. Which didn't go to well for the ones who attacked me, lol. Numerous threats on my life. Milwaukee is a tough town, but as always this former Marine will adapt and overcome.
A man with a grey beard and full head of hair with a square jawline will always kick your a$$! I wouldn't eff with you just based on your profile image!
All I am saying is... "If you want the turkey leg at Thanksgiving then you get the turkey leg."
Joking aside I have a very stoic straight face (hereditary) so I get judged on my tough looks too man... inside we all just want to be loved!
