Since you've got the "x-metal" box, that price is not unreasonable. But you should verify the capacitor still holds a charge so that doesn't bite you later.

Just buy a tiny flat head screwdriver and sand the tip to make it even thinner. That’s all you need to replace the part. Have to lift the spinning part and under you will find the capacitor that just looks like a battery

Yeah be careful with that. It's not rocket science but it is more complicated than a normal battery swap and if your screwdriver slips and hits one of the coils then it's suddenly turned into a much more complicated repair.

Having a pro do it, it's usually $50 parts and labor. Alternatively it's a $50 swing in value.

But before you go about replacing it you should first make sure it even needs it. It might not.
