Watches (other than Oakley) You're Wearing Today

It was removed from sale for quite a while because of the colour rubbing off on people’s arms and was selling for over a thousand (£, $ and €) and still seems to command more of a premium than any other. Once people see that they can sometimes be bought from Swatch stores at RRP, that will change for sure. Until recently, all of them were tricky to buy - none of the London shops have had any when I asked, nor did Lisbon in April.

I didn’t ask which x Blancpain models they had in the Munich shop, but they had a tray out of the available Moonswatch models so I’d say they’re still in pretty high demand.
I'll say more inventory should arrive at the stores just in time.for.the holidays

New stock arrives weekly according to the shop staff when I’ve asked, but yeah, I’m sure they will restock as much as possible in the run up to Christmas.

Man you guy's have some beautiful time pieces!

We need to start a "Watch wish list" and I'm going to start with the "Omega Ernie Els". I'm a huge fan of his and I want one of these!

About a dozen or so Speedies. A bunch of the current ones from the base Pro through to the platinum/meteorite Pro. Then some classics too, like the Lemania 5100 one, Alaska Project, the LED in a Pro case 186.0004, Mitsukoshi, Apollo 11 50th anniversary, Gemini IV 40th anniversary… I could go on but it’s probably pretty clear that that “dozen” is definitely on the low end!

The Mitsukoshi and Gemini IV could be swapped for the Tokyo 2020 equivalents, but that would have me thinking I should get all five of the Tokyo watches…

Just chatted with a watch collecting friend about this and said “I rather fancy the red Tokyo 2020 Speedy but then my brain goes “Well, wouldn’t you want the blue too? And the Mitsukoshi clone panda? And then, if you’ve got three anyway, wouldn’t it just make sense to get all five?”. This is what I have to deal with whenever I collect anything! 😂🙈”!

I started out as an F1 fan and collector of the Autocourse F1 annuals and that made me take note of the Heuer sponsorship on the Ferrari cars. In the 70s, Heuer made a tradition of giving the Ferrari F1 drivers (and a select few others) an 18K Carrera 1158. That then naturally became my grail watch, specifically in CHN form with a gold dial and black registers and the unusual white on black date wheel.

I was lucky enough to get exactly what I wanted in 2008, before they really exploded in value so that grail is attained. I’d come up with a new grail if I start collecting Speedies…

Does the Ernie Els Omega count as a grail for you, or just something you really want?!

Probably a little of both. I love golf, big fan of Ernie, and it's something I would really like to have.

I also was a huge fan of F1 when I was younger and wouldn't mind sporting some of these!

Wouldn't mind having one of these either!

It's about $300,000 out of my price range but we can dream!
;)
