What Are You Driving ?

What was that? I can't even tell, not familiar with it. Initial inclination is one of those FR-S/BTZ guys.

They've certainly piqued my interest enough to go get behind the seat of one and see how it might fare to replace the Mini in another 10 months or so.

Its a BRZ. They are ok i guess. You don't get much for your money when you get one new imo. Don't get me wrong a perfectly weighted car (50/50) that is RWD and has 200hp with Prius tires on the back is a lot of fun but as soon as you put some real tires underneath it takes all the fun away...Which mini do you have?

damn dude. dat brz/frs went to hell n back n back to hell again. :lolsign: nice turbo charger doe.

IKR!!! This is why you don't give a teenage kid a RWD car lol Thanks man!

I have an '09 Cooper S. Just driving it and putting on a lot of miles while trying to have some fun. I'm craving more speed and fun. I put some good summer tires on it and while it drives a lot better the fun aspect of burning tires and squealing corners is gone because these just won't break free. Debating dropping a few grand on upgrades vs just selling it and starting with something else.

If it was one of the AWD models I would say mod the crap out of it but a FWD car with lots of horsepower is not any fun....this coming from the gut that had a 400+hp scion tc lol

That's another option - wait for a JCW Paceman to hit the used market. Then slam it, roll bar, intake/exhaust, and a tune to get it closer to 300hp.

Right now I'm contemplating some similar mods to my Mini. Nothing drastic, not looking for tons of power, but a little suspension work to get it to corner better, some better air flow to improve the power band and throttle response, decrease turbo lag (not that this has all that much), improve the low end so it's more fun to drive as a commuting car.

I really wish we got the BMW M135i over here. In Europe $35k will get you quite a bit of car with several coupes and hatches to choose from, over here we get barely anything in the $20's, and everything in the $30's feel overpriced with performance models jumping another $10k. As is a low mileage 128i is still getting over $26. Temping, especially with a CPO warranty, but I realllllly wish it was the 135is at that price.

Makes me feel like I should just go get a Mustang. Bleh.

My friend in europe had a mustang imported actually lol since your in europe i believe you can get a jdm subaru in most places which is a easy and same car to boost to 400hp but i agree....that M135i is quite a nice piece of machinery....sadly it would cost me around $50k us to get here...(my dad is currently looking into getting one lol). On the other hand the paceman is a very very very fun car to drive!

I'm in the US, just lamenting on our void in choices for fun cars. Everything's got 4 doors or is expensive.

As much fun as the Mini is it wasn't my first choice, but it fit me, fit my budget, and has been a real hoot the last 14 months. Just trying to decide what I might do next summer - either start modding or move on.

get a VW R series GTi...AWD, forced induction, and fun as hell haha.

whoa, wait...WTF! there's a 4 door...wtf is VW thinking turning the GTi into a damn 4 door. I can see it in the Jetta and Golf lineup, but not an R, and damn sure not a GTi. See what happens when they take away the VR6 based R series! I lost interest lol.

Just cut the gti out,4 door was such a bad thing to do, and bring back the corrado... love that flying coffin!
