When rules and policies are being discussed in a “What Grinds Your Gears” thread instead of its own proper thread. I come here to laugh and empathize, not think.

That’s the one i was talking about
huge DIFFERENCE scalping starts with an “s” flipping well starts with an “f”Yes HUGE difference between scalping and flipping. Scalping is a huge NO!
This, i mean how can you be proud of that???Yeah, i think one year is fair. Also, if they blatantly admit it and rub it in eveyones face and start trolling about it in order to start chaos in the forum.

I'm sure this will go over real popular but just my 2 cents worth. Not much thats why its 2 cents but there is such a thing as "fair market value" of an item no matter when it was released. It is determined by sales made on a honest level. That being a honest auction with no shilling signs done multiple times sets what the value is at that time. Just like 20 year old pairs it will fluctuate. Xeus comes out and is gone fast. A guy buys 3 and sells two to keep one. He does not try to get $1500 just cause someone else did but holds off until some auctions and multiple sales happen to determine the "fair market value." It happens to be $850 - $1000. He sells the two within that range and pays for his own. When does it turn from scalping to flipping? Roughly 1 year of a items release?
Agreed! It is a well hidden conversationWhen rules and policies are being discussed in a “What Grinds Your Gears” thread instead of its own proper thread. I come here to laugh and empathize, not think.
The only difference between the two in this scenario is that one guy made less of a profit than the other. What if fair market value a couple of weeks or months down the line is $3k, and the second guy sells for way more than the first? Is the second guy now the scumbag, and the first guy is the fair one? Flipping, scalping, it’s all the same thing. I don’t care either way, to be clear. I overpay for stuff all the time with zero complaint. If you’re embarrassed when people call you out, grow a thicker skin.I'm sure this will go over real popular but just my 2 cents worth. To me that guy not only gambled with his money the Xeus would not be a losing deal, he studied the market, and he sold it at value. That takes a few weeks to do at best and if he goes that route then he has earned his dividends.
The guy who post up his Xeus before Oakley ever even shipped it or as soon as it hits his greedy hands for $1500 is out of bounds.
There is a difference in the two and that needs to be recognized.
As for the guy who posted "the Mumbo boxes" he was trying to make a point with a fake listing. I took the initiative to confront it and it was handled in private where he admitted to photoshopping and intentionally causing a stir. He also admitted it was overboard and destructive to progress. It was his strange way of trying to make a point that sometimes ego's come out here and things go to far when criticizing someone for trying to sell something THEY OWN!
Honestly I hope the mod team considers all angles and I have faith they will. I would love to see the place be one that the average guy does not feel threatened to sell here. I think allot more would get offered. Even if offered at a high price they always come to reason or they don't sell it. Doesn't happen any other way in the end.
