What Really Grinds Your Gears?

We need to find a way to make newbies read the rules before accepting their membership...

I was thinking the same thing, but how many people read EULAs when installing software? Same problem. Maybe requiring them to hand-copy the rules on a sheet of paper, scan it, then submit the scan for membership?

Yeah, right, that'd work; sure thing...

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

(I guess today's my day for corny clichéd colloquialisms...)

Every forum has a dedicated exchange thread so when I didn't see it here or rather when I wasn't allowed to read the posts I knew something was up. Read the rules and found out the reason.

If you go around on different threads offering your items for sale is either because you are new to the forum world, careless or just don't give a damn.

That's my rant for today.

There is a forum called XDA Developers... In order to join, you have to watch a video and look over the rules prior to joining. Sheesh.

There's lots of ways to look at things. For example, one way I look at co-workers is to classify them into one of two categories:

1) Those who make your job easier / help you.

2) Those who make your job harder / get in your way.

Guess which group is grinding my gears right now?!?!?

When you pay $10 for shipping and USPS is used for the final leg of the journey! Really!?!?

Sounds like UPS Mail Innovations.... I have had a package stuck with them since the 5th. Took the seller 13 days to ship before that.

In this case, it is FedEx Smart Post. Grrrrr

But nothing can compare to UPS Mail innovations... You might as well order and forget it. I've had stuff come to me 3 weeks after I ordered. Smart Post and UPS Basic Mail are usually ground shipping plus 1 day for the USPS last mile delivery.

Yeah, smartpost it total crap - it takes a day to get your package across the country to your local post office and then another three for them to get it to your door!

I did some research on that once upon a time... apparently the whole system is a clusterf*ck. The main problem is Fedex is designed to ship packages using specific Fedex labels while the post office is required to deliver anything with an address on it, even if written in crayon. I don't remember the specifics but somehow the differences in the scanning / tracking systems create situations where the wrong label is scanned so something can happen like a loop where Fedex hands a package over to USPS and USPS picks up the wrong label and hands it back to Fedex or ships it back to the originator or something like that...

Anyway, stay away from smartpost, it's not so smart...
