Where Did Your Forum User Name Come From?

I used to climb things at work instead of getting up on a ladder. once we were installing an adventure playground and i climbed up on the top beam of a piece of equipment wile my Foreman went to get a ladder. He came back and saw me up there bolting the ropework on and was like "what are you a man or a monkey?"

That is a good explanation - the "Amanora" part had just kinda blipped in my mind as some variety of "amore" so I was reading it as Love Monkey...

When I first met my fiancé we were 15, she had to leave from her uncles which put her 4 states away, I had to download skype so we could video call and I was very in tech savy. Somehow my region was set to Zimbabwe and the first thing she called me in our first call was jimbobwe, needless to say, I love the name. My rant is done
Hey, how you doing? Any chance of you and the future Mrs getting back to the island?

Few games have eclipsed Quake IMO
Hey stargazer,
Wow. That's a blast from the past! Correct me if I'm wrong but did the same crew start off with Doom and Castle Wolfenstein?

Incredible games for it's era.

I heard that after Doom got released, within a month, there were custard yellow Lamborghini in their carpark!!!!

Well I use to be into home theater really heavy. Thx is a home theater equipment standard. And 5150 is a Van Halen album name from 1986. I just added a couple more 00 at the end.

Interesting you said "stargazer". For a period of time I used that root phrase for a number of passwords for various account.....not any more ;)

I never played Wolfenstein but I did start off with Doom II and Hexen. Before Quake hit the market I was able acquire an "advanced" copy :)

That made me a popular guy back then. That was before the game manufacturers had ways to prohibit passing around a game to get installed on multiple pc's and them all being used on the same LAN Party.

Those were indeed great games for those times. I recently pulled out of the bowels of storage one of these and hooked up to an old TV....

Magnavox Odyssey series - Wikipedia

Guess how long the kids lasted playing this?

If you said less than 5 mins you would be about right.

BTW I like the back story on your forum name. I'll be thinking of you as "underwear ringer"

The 360 is the engine in my ram. I think the other is self explanatory....

Quake one with the cujo patch still makes my skin tingle.
:offtopic: I generally don't like to go off topic (even in the OFF TOPIC section of the forum), but I will today. I remember this like it was yesterday.

The guy who setup the server, put in a "grappling hook" mod in the game and didn't tell anyone (at least me). I kept getting owned from behind and couldn't figure out why.

That SOB had spots he'd grapple up to out of sight then drop down after someone went by and.....rocket up the @r$e!

I remember running toward a doorway into a room and saw feet dangling in the doorway and thought it was some kind of bug. I peeked into the room to see this guy hanging from a grappling hook. Needless to say I rocketed his @r$e. From that point onward his advantage was lost.
