X metals are metal, not plastic.

Just my opinion.
X metals are industrial. They are machined from titanium, a difficult metal to work with.
The frames should pay homage to this, and not be changed.
If you change the colour, you walk away from this ethos.
What do you think?

Walking away from the ethos? Ahhh…don’t think so.

I saw and see the Oakley “ethos” as Mad Science. Cool futuristic gear.

Painted…not painted…to me does not even factor into that original thought process.

So what’s your thoughts on Plasma, Carbon, or Polished? Were those departures from the “ethos” ….just curious.

We’d have to ask Jim Jannard or Peter Yee I suppose about their opinions on “to paint or not to paint”….but I’ll still keep painting and leather wrapping over here either way 😉

I customize X-Metal frames that are in need of help, and will conscientiously avoid stripping down a nice frame. That’s why most of my pairs are still the original finish. I bought a lot of beaters, which is why I have so many customized frames.
