I also like to take the hosted image from tapatalk and use it over on OR, but now it links to the forum, not the original image. .

Ok, I see what the issue is.
So when you originally post the photo, it links to tapatalk. When an image is hosted off the forum, the forum proxies the image, meaning when you click to view it, it doesn't make you leave the site(this is for security reasons since many image hosts cookie stuff, have ads etc.), but it still essentially loading the picture from an external source(in this case tapatalk).
The link you copied to OR was neither the Oakley Forum link nor the tapatalk one, it was the proxy of the tapatalk link, which is why it won't work.
However, within an hour of the photo being added to Oakley Forum, the forum automatically saves the image and turns it into an attachment, which is how you get the attachment link you posted above. That link will always work 100%, and can be linked on any site. That is the point of saving it, so it never expires.
There are a few options:
1) Upload photos directly to OF and you can always link to them, no matter what.
2) If you prefer to use Tapatalk or any image host, make sure to use the original image link, not the OF proxy.
We are working on getting it so Tapatalk uploads automatically go to OF, but the measure of having the forum save images is to stop broken links, and will allow you to always link to them. Many image hosts delete a photo after a certain period of time(30,60,90 days). By hosting our own images and converting external ones, we ensure that threads keep all photos and members can always link to them.
