Precision machined spinning tops...the latest trend!

I think it's more likely that the mirror had a pit deep enough for the top to settle in and stop standing. My mirror has a couple spots that my tops like to settle in and stay there until their spin stops. I've yet to get one to stop standing though.

My billetspin navigator arrived yesterday, one of the limited exotic mokumes...

Next to the Lambda...

Howsit spin?

I've barely had the chance to try, haven't timed them. It's heavier than the lambda so it takes more torque to spin it up, but it's less forgiving because there's less clearance between the collar and the surface, i.e. the contact point doesn't stick down as far. I'm using a 12X mirror with 5" diameter; I may need to switch to a comparable one that's only 5X to have a flatter surface and lessen the chance of the collar scraping at the start of the spin.

Night and day with the details in the decoration, though.

Got a small leather drawstring pouch for pocket carry. Smallest I could find, and pretty cheaply priced. Satisfied so far; real leather that smells like leather instead of chemicals, and the size is right so there's plenty of room but it doesn't waste a lot of pocket space with bulky unused bag, had I gotten a larger one. Durability TBD.
