Count how many of those are in the 60-70's

"All time best" talk is really just talk-radio fodder to fill up the hours. Really, interesting but meaningless - there'll never be a head-to-head to prove who's really right.

I remember the '04 college football season - USC was the two-time defending nat'l champion, ranked #1 all season, in the driver's seat to three-peat.

Late in the season, pundits weren't just calling them the best team that year, but suggesting they were the best CFB team EVER, doing all sorts of comparisons and analysis to previous great teams.

Then what happened in the championship game? They lost to Vince Young and UT... So much for that.

Personally I think LeBron is a great player who receives a bit more criticism than he deserves. I think some of that is because some people are calling him the new best ever, and those fans of previous greats take offense to that.

Is he the best ever? I don't really care. He's definitely one of the best now. And we're getting a great finals series out of it. Can he continue to carry the Cavs all the way, or will he wear out and GS make a comeback? We'll see. But either way, one side or the other of the "all time great" argument will use the results to support their side...
