I assumed it was just from what I logged in using Facebook. But I haven't looked for guns lately, they're too expensive given the China Plague. You realize those apps use data from everywhere to target ads towards you right?
No, that is not the problem. That is the result. We want to think we are a democratic nation. That is only in theory, not in application. When Jimmy Kimmel, LeBron James, CNN and Fox tell us the importance of our voices being heard through our vote, they don't give a rats ass to our voices being heard. They want us to go and echo what their agenda is. Never have I heard any say go educate yourself on the issues that are important to you and each candidates stance and vote for who you feel will do the best in regards to your needs and beliefs.I pay a crap ton in taxes as well. Much of this though is due to rich folks not paying their share. If you want to go after 'fairness' that's where I'd focus my energies.
As for social systems/programs... No doubt, others use the system more than I do. Yep, some are welfare cheats. Some drive up service costs. Some use healthcare more than others... in the grand scheme of things though, it doesn't really matter. A social net for everyone is not a bad thing in my opinion even if I don't use it as much as others might. Yes, I pay more in taxes but even if I'm not using it, I know it's benefiting the country as a whole.
End of the day, I think the real problem is that there are tons of really rich people who avoid paying taxes and have shifted the burden to the middle class. THAT is a problem.
I'm far more concerned with guys who make tens of millions and pay zip in taxes vs 'welfare queens.'Have you considered hiring a better tax preparer who can help you pay less in taxes? Most of the "rich folks" aren't welfare queens or living on the system. It's the ones who pay $0 in Federal Income Taxes yet live off of the system who needs energies focused on them.
As I said, in every system there will be cheats. But I'd much rather have a safety net for people who need it with some cheats than have no safety net at all. I think the anger that most people have is misdirected. It does matter when it's coming out of my paycheck! I've never lived off of the system, I couldn't being myself to go that low. But I have to pay for those that do. I don't have kids because I have to pay for the welfare queens kids who they **** out every 9 months to keep living off the system. How is this benefitting the country?
2k less in taxes is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. There are guys avoiding millions in taxes. Guess who picks up that tab. You and I do.Like I said, hire a better tax preparer so you can pay less in taxes. I pay about $2k less than I did before, and that is $2k less in welfare programs so it's a huge win for me! I agree that the middle class has a tax burden but that needs to be spread around fairly. Everyone needs to contribute to this country and not just the tip 1% paying over 70% of the Federal Income Taxes paid while over 50% pay nothing.
I won't speak for Lebron James or Jimmy Kimmel or whoever... I'm just saying that I think most folks are angry at the wrong people. Its like sitting at a table where one guy has twenty plates of food and there's 100 of us left with one. And the rich guy says: "Hey, he's trying to steal your food."No, that is not the problem. That is the result. We want to think we are a democratic nation. That is only in theory, not in application. When Jimmy Kimmel, LeBron James, CNN and Fox tell us the importance of our voices being heard through our vote, they don't give a rats ass to our voices being heard. Hell, I spend more time contemplating who to vote for in custom of the month then most do in regards to the leaders in their respective communities.
By the way, has anyone seen my soapbox?
Sure, but tax the so called rich too much, and they lose interest in working hard.Of course you have to pay for it. You pay taxes and get services. That's how it works.
The rich won't work hard? Think about what you just said.Sure, but tax the so called rich too much, and they lose interest in working hard.
What's happening is that you wind up picking up the bill. The tax burden is shifted to you. There is no reason to if the government just takes most of it.
Why would everyone be on welfare? Do you want to be on welfare? I don't think you do. I don't. I'd keep working. I've got a good job and I want to keep it that way. I just pay too much in taxes because others have left it to me to pick up the bill. I don't know anyone who wakes up and wants to go on welfare. And even if I did, it wouldn't be nearly the problem that economic disparity is.And then what, the country is ****ed, not everyone can be on welfare, someone have to work and pay tax.
If this is true, then you’re doing it wrong! If you’re paying INTO a system and getting NOTHING out of it, it’s time to actually get something out of it.I pay more in annual taxes than some people make. In other words, I pay too much and get no benefits from the system.
Maybe you don't... but a lot of people do, if the welfare is high enough. The rich won't work hard? Think about what you just said.
The US just got rid of the inheritance tax. A massive huge hit to the middle class. How are they working hard to inherit a billion dollars or whatever from their dead relatives? And now these guys won't pay a dime in taxes on it.
How many people are working three jobs because they can't pay rent with just one? Is the problem that they aren't working hard enough?
What's happening is that you wind up picking up the bill. The tax burden is shifted to you.
Why would everyone be on welfare? Do you want to be on welfare? I don't think you do. I don't. I'd keep working. I've got a good job and I want to keep it that way. The rich took a huge tax break and the deficit skyrocketed. Why? So the rich guys could get even richer. What the hell did those guys need a tax break for? So it would make them work harder?
