Maybe you don't... but a lot of people do, if the welfare is high enough.
Okay, let's say a lot of people do. I don't think so but sure...

The top 1% own almost as much as the entire middle class. 35 trillion dollars.

The problem is not "welfare queens". The problem is economic disparity. Even if you're making 100k per year you're fighting over the crumbs.

i see, so it's not that many people, therefore i can tell you what will happen if the new US government will start to tax them even higher... they will move to another country with super low tax! or at least move their companies and fortunes.
That is what all rich folk do here in europe.
First you have to identify the problem. The 1% are the elephant in the room. Finger pointing at 'welfare queens' or whatever takes attention from what the real problem is.

In terms of dealing with the problem, there would no doubt be challenges. That doesn't mean you should just give up.

I'm far more concerned with guys who make tens of millions and pay zip in taxes vs 'welfare queens.'

There will always be some who game the system. And 'welfare queens' are a much smaller problem than somebody who doesn't pay anything and moves the tax burden my way.

You can have the best accountants in the world but it's a rigged tax system. If you aren't in the super rich category or you aren't a corporation, you're going to pay taxes.
I’m concerned with the leeches on the system and not the ones who make tens of millions that are actually working. As long as they’re using legal means to pay less taxes that’s one thing but if they’re committing tax fraud then that’s a problem.
As I said, in every system there will be cheats. But I'd much rather have a safety net for people who need it with some cheats than have no safety net at all. I think the anger that most people have is misdirected.

If the economy was a piece of pie the super rich would have all but one slice. The upper middle class would have have a slice and the rest is shared by everybody else. And the rich pay less taxes than you or I do.

What the heck do I care if somebody who has crumbs on his plate is trying to get more crumbs for himself?
That’s the problem they don’t need the safety net they’re leeches who abuse the system. It sounds like you’re envious of the rich. Have you looked to see what you need to do to be rich instead of complaining?
2k less in taxes is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. There are guys avoiding millions in taxes. Guess who picks up that tab. You and I do.
Are the guys avoiding millions in taxes doing so legally or fraudulently? The $2l might be meaningless but it’s $2k less that contribute to the likes of welfare queens and leeches on society. I know I pick up the tab but there’s those who just don’t contribute at all and reap all the benefits.

I won't speak for Lebron James or Jimmy Kimmel or whoever... I'm just saying that I think most folks are angry at the wrong people. Its like sitting at a table where one guy has twenty plates of food and there's 100 of us left with one. And the rich guy says: "Hey, he's trying to steal your food."

To me, social programs make sense. If it's not people's cup of tea that's cool. I just don't get the demonization.

Getting taxed for social programs is not the issue. It's the economic disparity that is killing us.
Yes taxes are the problem.

Sure, but tax the so called rich too much, and they lose interest in working hard.
There is no reason to, if the government just takes most of it.

And then what, the country is ****ed, not everyone can be on welfare, someone have to work and pay tax.
This. I’ve got family members who are Captains at the top of the pay scale at their airlines. If racist pedo biden actually gets in office they all said that they’ll retire because their income would drastically decrease due to taxation. You’re right there’s no reason to work if it’ll all go to welfare queens and leeches.

The rich won't work hard? Think about what you just said.

The US just got rid of the inheritance tax. A massive huge hit to the middle class. How are they working hard to inherit a billion dollars or whatever from their dead relatives? And now these guys won't pay a dime in taxes on it.

How many people are working three jobs because they can't pay rent with just one? Is the problem that they aren't working hard enough?
Every rich person I know either works hard or were great at investing money. You make it sound like they just become rich with no effort.
What’s so bad about getting rid of the inheritance tax? It was already taxed once so taxing it a second time is theft.
Perhaps the people working three jobs need to look at their finances and not live beyond their means.
What's happening is that you wind up picking up the bill. The tax burden is shifted to you.
Perhaps the tax burden should be shifted equally to everyone.
Why would everyone be on welfare? Do you want to be on welfare? I don't think you do. I don't. I'd keep working. I've got a good job and I want to keep it that way. I just pay too much in taxes because others have left it to me to pick up the bill. I don't know anyone who wakes up and wants to go on welfare. And even if I did, it wouldn't be nearly the problem that economic disparity is.

The rich took a huge tax break and the deficit skyrocketed. Why? So the rich guys could get even richer. What the hell did those guys need a tax break for? So it would make them work harder?
Why wouldn’t everyone be on welfare if they can live better than they do working? I enjoy working so I don’t want to be on welfare. Economic disparity is a joke.

If this is true, then you’re doing it wrong! If you’re paying INTO a system and getting NOTHING out of it, it’s time to actually get something out of it.
I’m not doing anything wrong, it’s designed that way. The more one pays into the system the less they get out of it. Whereas those who pay nothing into the system get the benefits.
I also pay more in taxes than some people make (between 55-60K a year in taxes and deductions) but I sure get a lot of services back, thanks to Socialized Medicine and other social programmes ( family allowances, free day care, no fault auto insurance, lower cost for médecine, low cost elementary, high school and college etc...)
I wish I only paid that much in taxes between everything. So you get free no fault auto insurance in Canada too?
Ill gladly pay a hefty (yet fair) share of my salary so everyone around can benefit from these policies than have one person get sick and lose their home/livelihood...
What I pay in taxes isn’t fair. When I go to the grocery store and see the leeches getting their food with food stamps while wearing designer clothes and going out and getting in a late model Benz and I’m paying for this, that’s not fair.

It sounds like you’re jealous of the rich. There’s places where making $100k will still have you living in the ghetto. The problem is welfare queens and not those who make millions and legally pay less in taxes. As for tax fraud they need to be locked up.
